For window cleaning we need as close to 000TDS as possible for spot free results which is why most of us use DI or RO/DI. When doing softwashing the RO water will make you surfactants go further since water hardness results in needing more soap to get the same results. Since the surfaces you are cleaning don't require the same spot free results as windows then RO is all that's needed. One other benefit for the surfaces you are cleaning is during the rinse. Less minerals afterward to dry on the surface you just cleaned.

Lisa,Eric or Tony, What size hose do you run from tour system to the pole?

I think it is a 3/8 line. Just a small clear plastic one.

3/8" is pretty common. I've also used 1/4". Here's a chart that lists the benefits of different materials of hose so you can choose what best fits your work environment.
