Did you use a ratchet wrench or a screw driver to tighten it?

Over the years we all have experienced a leak in our systems. Do you have a photo of the connection? Try a different barb, hose clamp or cut another inch of hose off. Liquid like electricity will take the path of least resistance. As Pat mentioned use a nut driver (3/16) or 1/4" drive ratchet and socket to tighten.

I used a ratchet wrench to tighten 2 clamps. I did not want to tighten too much. But I tightened it pretty good. Maybe I should try the clamps you squeeze tight with those pliers.

I hate those clamps. Perhaps others have had better luck with them. Are you sure it's not the gun leaking?

No its coming from in between barb and hose. You think the pipe thread sealant had to do with it? I know it works for threaded adapters. But I used it on the hose barb.I thought it would help.

The only pipe dope that works well, sets up and lasts is Tru Blu (or another brand like it). If there is a problem put the paste on followed by tape. It makes a great seal.

Which trigger gun is it? The popular triggers that are sold by PTState and ThePowerWashStore are great guns,..but the thread cut on all the ones I have aren't appropriate,...the fittings always seems to go in all the way to the hex part of the fitting,..almost like they're not tapered like regular pipe threads,...and it can be a bear to stop leaking if the sealing effort is less than superb.

If the barb is leaking with two properly tightened clamps,..then replace the barb. Also,..one thing to mention on used hose barbs,..You have to watch cutting the hose off with a razor knife,..if you cut to deep into the barb down the length of the hose barb to split the hose for easier removal,..that little very "minor" slice creates an avenue for fluid to travel up the outside of the barb,..and is REALLY hard to stop that leak. Throw it away.

*Not saying you used old piece or used a knife in the manner I suggested,..just thought I'd throw it out there.

Dip the hose in hot water then tighten the camps
