To me that's a big hazard. What if you fall, slip or can't stop. I personally wouldn't do anything like that. To many people watching.

Hehe,
those things catch on fire all the time.
Imagine what SH fumes and the faulty batteries "hooking up" would be like.
He'd be blown sky high.

The 12V hand helds chemical sprayers I made and used this past season were absolutely awesome,..both the aluminum and the wooden one worked equally as well as spot sprayers. Between those and the remote unit,.it cut my labor down alot,..not to mention time.

By the way,.my version of a hand held is way better than any of the others I've seen since. Unbiased opinion of course,.Ha,Ha

*The hovercraft thingy idea is really stupid and unprofessional,....

**On a side note,..I don't think SH fumes are flammable or explosive.

Jeff your right that it's not flammable but the fumes from battery acid and SH is noxious and even if Lith ion batteries don't produce acidic gas, if they get corroded from the SH they can short and catch fire, but as Art was saying it is probably a joke, I was also being somewhat sarcastic!😉

Hey Maverick,..yea,.it's all good,..But seeing how this is an information board I simply wanted to clarify the flammability of SH fumes.

I don't think it was a joke,..I think this guy was spraying for bugs and this is likely how he does it. Not sure either though.

I like your spot sprayer idea, in fact I have a small 12v battery and thought of making one.
But I've been wanting a battery operated backpack sprayer to replace pump ups for general use but never thought about using for roof cleaning tests. If I can replace the seals with SH resistant types I'm gonna try that.

Hudson pumps sells one for $99 thru northern tools if I remember.

The back packs are ok I suppose,..still pretty big,..and really risk cross contamination if you ever want to switch cleaners. Designated sprayers are the only way to use these really,..cause dumping and rinsing thoroughly is a PITA.

Those igloo ones look really cheesy,..

This is Jeremy Dents design. He calls it the Spray-Away. It fits a 5 gallon bucket in the box. It looks like it would work OK. I know he has a few for sale and some of the guys want to buy it.

That's crazy,..if I need to use a 5 gallon bucket,.them I'm gonna use the hand truck design,..with a nice tall design and able to roll it around,..and also mount a 50' hose reel. Seriously,..do people not have a mind of their own when it comes to building this stuff. Anyone who is capable enough to be in business should be capable of building or at least copy a rudimentary design such as this thing shown above. This cooler thing isn't even in the same league as pne mounted on a hand truck,...talk about going backward in design,...you have it with that thing.

The cart design is also so valuable as a tool caddy,..I made "clips" from PVC pipe and put them on the sides and can pop my brushes in and out. They stand straight up,...and I have these on each side of the cart.

Two spayers in this category is ideal,..one won't work,..you need bigger and smaller. Who wants to lug 5 allon for a spot spray.

Here is a nice Winter project for those who want a very capable (5) gallon sprayer,.but these aren't spot sprayers. Spot sprayers are 2 gallons or less.  And for me,..they are actually only a gallon. Is why they are called spot sprayers. The cooler model above doesn't even come close to this cart design.

Those RIDGED boxes are awesome and extremely well made, forgot the name of the manufacturer but it's an Israeli company.
Interlock like Festool but more rugged.

Has a handle and surprisingly good wheels.

Edit: KETER is the manufacturer but Home Depot  is exclusive carrier.

Great for keeping spare parts dry from SH.

Hey Art,..I would refrain from calling that a "design",..Any bonehead can throw a pump in a cooler,..Ha,Ha,.. Seems to cheapen the definition of the word "Design"

I may seem a little passionate about this subject I guess my main point is simple,..this is a site for trading information,.and I have nothing to gain by encouraging people to get a little hands on with some of this stuff and to make better tools for yourself. I like simple,.but not crude. And anyone who would actually BUY any of these cooler models are REALLY selling themselves short if they think can't just put one together themselves. And I don't want to hear about the lack of time you have,..that's a BS excuse. No one here or anywhere is too busy to slam that thing together. And if you just don't want to..then you have some serious 'drive' issues.

*You know the one thing I've always liked about these sites over the years is all the innovation that has come fro regular people,.simply because we are in such a niche service that ready made tools and ideas for every aspect aren't available,..just seems to me that these crude cooler designs are taking innovation down about 4 rungs on the ole' innovation ladder. Simple,.yes,..but that's about it.

Jeff

Here's one of my first builds. I use it for a transfer pump when I need it or what ever else that may come up. Works Great. The simple Cherry is obsolete these days.

Yea Art ,.and that shows more thought than the cooler idea. This is what I'm talking about,..this is how it's supposed to be. And those home grown ideas we use that make our own services better has often times advanced into better ideas and improvements. But the idea has always been to go forward,..and idea like the one you had there is a step up on the  innovation ladder from other methods of transferring,..not a step back.  And is how I also do it now these days. And likely got the idea from you from an older post .

*I used to use a barrel stand,.but the idea of pumping out seemed like a no brainer,.especially once I did it. Ha,Ha.. But,.it was a step forward,..not back,..even if I was late to the party on this  transferring method

Jeff, there's nothing wrong with someone wanting a test spot sprayer that costs $50 4gal capacity (although only need to use 2gal of mix). Instead of spending $100-200 plus build time but I'm a custom builder myself.

I have a small battery that with a tiny pump could make a pocket test sprayer lol.
It's the time I DON'T have.
Maybe during winter but my main line of work is insanely more time consuming than most.

Still, little garage projects are what keep me somewhat sane😲

Gotta find a pump to work with this battery ,  it's 10"×3" roughly

Maverick I use batteries that are 4"x 3.5" and 5 Amp Hours.  Gotta just look at your pump specs and match it up. Look at the pumps amp draw and and do a little math to see how much trigger time you have,..which this is where people tend to overthink the capability of a battery and pump combo. Especially for these spot sprayers.   Which,.these little things work awesome. $15.00 on Amazon.  I use 1 GPM pumps with them,..but they would also run the bigger 2 GPM pump with no issue.

And no,.nothing wrong at all with a $50 sprayer, but build it at home. I think you missed my point on that.   I was  stressing to build one of these cooler types instead of buy,..if you're so inclined to have one.

But a test spot sprayer more than a gallon just adds weight and takes up more space. What can't be test spotted with (1) gallon?  Just trying to help you save some space and weight.

* I solder a (2) pin connector to the battery and have a corresponding one tied into my regular 12V car battery charger,.and when it's time to charge,.just plug it in.

I think he is gonna call it "Sir Sprays a-lot". I saw on Facebook he had a logo designed for it.

LOL. I'm not sure how long he's been in business, but that's probably about right.  I think he is a one or two truck company. He's been really active on Facebook...lots of videos and stuff so lots of people know him. Nice guy.  He taught a basic class on social media marketing at the UAMCC.
