roof softwash and pressure washing equipment

Hello all,

My new business is picking up and I am trying to figure out what equipment I should be looking to purchase.

Currently I am renting industrial pressure washer and surface cleaner for cleaning drives and walk ways.  For the roof cleaning I am using a backpack pump sprayer with 2 gallons of 12.5% SH + 2 gallons water and 1/2 cup of dawn dish soap.  Walking around on steep roofs with a back pack sprayer is a temporary method that takes way too much time and is dangerous, and yes we do use ropes and harnesses.

I would like to buy a pressure washer setup that will work well with the surface cleaner and also work well for soft washing roofs.  Is this realistic or will I need a separate setup for each of these tasks?  I have been looking at buying a washer with the following: 4GPM @ 4000 PSI 13Hp Honda with CAT pump.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Albert

Albert,

You won't find a pressure washers that will deliver enough SH for roof cleaning. There is a lot of information here and the search bar can be your best friend. There are many discussions and pictures of set ups. That is the best way to get the information you are looking for.

Brett

You'll need a dedicated pump for cleaning roofs as a pressure washer will not deliver a strong enough mix. Here is a great option you might want to consider for a pressure washer great price...you'll love the 5.5 GPM over the 4GPM....

Here we go again... can anyone count how many have shown up over the past two years wanting answers (sometimes known as spoon fed)? Never return or come back months later needing to be bailed out of a situation. Not a simple thank you. Wow... what a world we have around us!

I turned off notifications on all the groups on FB Pat. What a major life change! I can't tell you the last time I looked at the STUPID posts from all sorts and the lonely videos of the experts! A much quieter life without all the drama.

Hello all,

Thank you to everyone who has provided recommendations for the Power Wash Store, equipment advise, and all other information related to my questions. I have been in contact with the power wash store and have a good picture of what I need to take my new business to the next level.

From the sounds of it, this group has had a lot of problems with people not responding and/or not showing appreciation for the time and advice that you all share freely here.
I would like to apologize if I led some of you to believe that I was here to be "spoon fed" information or that I did not appreciate the help because I did not respond fast enough to the advice that was given to me.

I am husband and father to a wife and son both with Traumatic Brain Injuries due to a uninsured motorist who almost killed them here in Oregon. As a result of this life event, I have been challenged with the task of trying to provide for my family in ways that I never dreamed I would have to. I work two full time jobs, including my new business in exterior cleaning, and help coach baseball with the couple of hours I have left in a week. I have spent hours going through old posts on this page looking for answers before I ever asked my first question. Some I find, others I don't because I missed it or didn't catch it. I am sure that 100 other idiots before me have shown up here looking for answers that are right in the open or hidden on the 3rd page of one of the many posts here showing before and after photos and then left without any care or appreciation for how many years it took you guys to learn what you know. I joined this group in hopes that I could get help from those of you who care to share your knowledge, because quite honestly, I need it. I did as much research as I could before turning on my new business in January of this year, and since that time I have been getting more busy with every day that passes. I have never owned a business before, so I am researching and learning every aspect of my business while still trying to juggle everything else in my life. My goal is to provide my customers with a clean home/business and not destroy anything in the process, that is why I'm here.
Knowledge doesn't come cheap or fast, and just like my time is precious, I know that yours is too. That is why I am always grateful to those of you who take the time to respond to a complete stranger like me and ask nothing in return!
Life has turned my skin to leather so I don't post any of this for sympathy of any kind, but only to share a snapshot of what I do in my daily life, how I got here and where I am trying to go. If my questions are stupid/repetitive and serve to only annoy and bother this group then I will politely exit and figure it out the hard way.

Again, thank you for your time.

Albert

Listen to Pat!

Who has certified those certifying? I have seen some in the past retire from a job, find a niche and start certifying people after only 5+ years in business. Certification holds no water, it's only good for marketing and those who actually believe it's something special.

Thanks for you last post Albert!

Unless the cert is sanctioned by your local state or Govt. it is meaningless. Educate your customers. Any certs you get are for Your benefit. Not theirs.
